It has been an exciting 2017 for Binnovative. With your continued help and support, we have had another very successful year.
Here are some of our highlights for 2017.
◆ Organized 2017 NASA International Space Apps Challenge (ISAC)
This year was the fourth year that Binnovative organized NASA International Space Apps Challenge (ISAC). This year’s event was hosted at Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC). We are very thankful for your help and support for making this even a great success! Seven Boston teams comprised of 55 participants joined in this global hackathon on April 29-30.
Our participants had a great time at the hackathon, based on our survey results (please refer to the bar graphs below). Binnovative would like to congratulate all 7 teams, including the three teams that won the following awards, two of which advanced to the global finals:

◆ Participated to CIC / Venture Café Japan Innovation Night
Binnovative was a part of Venture Café’s first Japan Innovation Night on Thursday, November 2nd. This event was organized by Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC)/Venture Cafe to aim creating a platform for knowledge sharing and networking for Japanese and Japan-interested entrepreneurs in the Greater Boston Area, to deepen connection between the Boston and Tokyo (Japanese) startup ecosystems, and over 678 people attended.
At this event, Binnovative CEO Eriko joined as a panelist of the section “Innovation in Japan” and delivered presentation to discuss about initiatives of Binnovative to contribute growing innovation ecosystem in Boston and Japan.

Coming Up in 2018:
We are planning exciting collaboration events with Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC)/Venture Café for 2018.

◆ 2017 NASA International Space Apps Challenge (ISAC) 企画・実行
Binnovativeが企画・実行しているNASA International Space Apps Challenge （ボストン会場）も今年で４年目になりました。今年のイベントはCambridge Innovation Center (CIC)で行われました。2017年のイベントも、関係者各位のご支援・ご協力によって盛況のうちに終了いたしました。４月29−30日の２日で、７チーム、計55人の参加者が参加し革新的なアイデアを作成しました。
イベント後に行ったアンケートの結果からも分かるように、本イベントは参加者にとって貴重な経験となったようで、スタッフ一同大変喜しく思っております(詳しくは下記グラフを参照)。下記の賞を受賞した３チームを含む、全７チーム(ミックスチーム含む)とグローバルファイナリストに進出する２チームをここに称えます。

◆ CIC ベンチャーカフェ・Japan Innovation Nightに参加
11月2日にベンチャーカフェで開催された第一回ジャパンイノベーションナイトに参加しました。このイベントはケンブリッジイノベーションセンター(CIC)及びベンチャーカフェが主催して、ボストン地域の日本人及び現地のアントレプレナーの間での知識共有のプラッフォーム構築およびボストンと日本のスタートアップエコシステムのネットワーキングに貢献することを狙ったイベントで、678人もの出席者を迎え、成功裏に終わりました。
本イベントの「Innovation in Japan」のセクションで、Binnovative代表 西本会里子がプレゼンターとして登壇、Binnovativeのボストンと日本のイノベーションエコシステム成長への貢献についてお話させていただきました。

2018年の活動について
2018年度は、Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC)/Venture Café とのコラボ・イベントを企画しております。
また、NASAが2018年のInternational Space Apps Challenge を発表した際には、ハッカソンのボストン会場の企画・実行をする予定です。(現時点では、まだNASAからの発表が出ていません。）
